Learning at Bella Vista Christian Academy
Imagine 4-year-olds ready and eager for kindergarten; first graders well versed in the family life of ancient Egypt; or third graders who write and publish their own hardbound books; or fifth graders in a beginning band who can actually play songs for the Christmas program, not just 2 or 3 notes; or sixth graders who perform portions of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" in the original language for their parents. Yes, we have all these, thanks to a challenging curriculum built on Core Knowledge.
Core Knowledge - a new term to you, perhaps. A very specific sequence of ideas and skills has been implemented from preschool through grade 8 which stresses both memorization of facts (like multiplication tables, and state capitals) as well as an understanding of content and concepts. In other words, when your fourth grader starts discussing the medieval ages with you, he'll know what he is talking about!
Our preschool center uses the "Core Knowledge Preschool Program."
This program for 3-5 year olds is specifically designed to provide your child with the solid foundation he or she will need for later learning in kindergarten and beyond.
The Core Knowledge Preschool Program is based on scientific research about how young children learn, as well as, research into the best preschool practices around the world.
We are excited to offer this outstanding program to our children.

As your child proceeds in school from month to month and year to year, he or she will be exposed to a broad range of historical, scientific, and cultural topics that will build on one another and prepare the student for later educational success.
You'll be pleased to see how enthusiastic your child will be about learning as the curriculum unfolds. No matter what level of ability students start with, they will experience a sense of achievement as knowledge and skills are mastered.
